Hello, Blog 3.0...

Back to blogging! 🥳

I started blogging long ago, Moveable Type from March 2003, WordPress from 2005... Basically, since back when we had still had well-dressed Velociraptors on the Subways. 🦖

I decided to hop over to using Ghost, so, 3.0. Hard part is resisting the temptation to hack an existing theme and deep dive into customizing. Better to just, start, writing. Ya know?

Near term subjects:

  • how an ancient ISP (Sonic.com) lost a customer by yanking away functionality
  • The Road To Ghost
  • Side Projects, and glimmerings of a hint of a plan

There are a bunch of thoughts about "why to blog?", and I think I will sprinkle those into posts, wherever it makes sense. The gist is "I want to deep dive a bit more than I can on Bluesky, Mastodon, etc."

The theme (here in mid-January 2025) looks.. meh, but am eager to get started and evolve it. See ya here!
